A co-ord set is one of the most versatile pieces in a wardrobe — but most people wear it one way and stop there. Here are five ways to style your Kangan suit so you get more out of every piece.
1. Wear it as a complete set
The most obvious option is also the most effortless. Both pieces together, minimal accessories. The print does the work — you just have to show up. For a summer wedding or an evening out, add gold jhumkas and a clutch and you are done. For a more casual day, flat kolhapuris and a simple tote.
2. Pair the shirt with your own trousers
Most Kangan shirts work as standalone kurtas — the length and neckline are designed to be worn with plain trousers or cigarette pants you already own. A white or black trouser with any of the Vol. I shirts immediately shifts the look from matching set to curated outfit. Try the Barg shirt over cream trousers. Try the Shab shirt over wide-leg black pants.
3. Wear the trouser as separates
The Vol. I trousers are cut wide and relaxed — they pair beautifully with solid-colour shirts or even a plain white button-down. The print on the trouser becomes the statement piece and the top stays simple. This is one of the underrated benefits of a printed co-ord: either piece can carry an entirely different outfit.
4. Add a dupatta
None of the Vol. I pieces come with a dupatta — intentionally. A plain chiffon dupatta in a single colour pulled from the print ties the whole look together and dresses it up significantly. For the Gulab set, try a deep burgundy or blush dupatta. For the Neel set, a sage green or ivory works beautifully.
5. Layer it for transitional weather
Lahore mornings and evenings in April are cooler than you expect. A simple open-front abaya or a long linen coat over the co-ord set extends the wearability into spring and early autumn. Keep the layer plain and neutral so the print breathes underneath.
The point of a good co-ord is not that it works one way. It is that it works many ways — and gets better the more you wear it.
